Jack Salom has a chemical engineering background and holds a PhD in electrochemistry, both from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne. He was also a participant in the IMD's PED program. In 1979, Jack Salom joined in Geneva a young Swiss multinational firm, leader in the distribution of state-of-the art high technology instruments and equipment for industry and research centres in Europe: Instrumatic AG |
Later based in Zurich during 6 years, he managed the Sales and Marketing department and acted as Assistant General Manager. (Instrumatic, was acquired in the early nineties by a Swiss group, Motor Columbus).
In 1988, joining DBM, the Swiss and world leader in outplacement and career counselling, Jack Salom was involved from the outset in the firm's growth and development in Switzerland. Simultaneously, founding in 1992 with a partner, the Challenge Group, which owned a number of firms in the field of human resources and management consulting, he became a member of their boards. At the side of Eric-A. Denzler he was also instrumental in the development and the launching of the interactive database Talents®. From 1996 to mid 2004, he was CEO of the Swiss subsidiary of DBM and one of the shareholders of DBM Inc USA. In 2003, he became the first President of the Swiss Association of Outplacement and Career Consulting firms.
During sixteen years, Jack Salom coached numerous CEO’s and Senior Executive clients that were facing major career transition challenges. Capitalising on his outstanding career counselling and management consulting experience, linked to a unique network of relationships with key business leaders, he has entered the executive search field as a Partner of our firm in 2005 and was appointed Managing Partner in 2008.
